That’s interesting, Earnest, I’ve heard that song before. HVAC folks will figure the dome as they would a conventional wood framed house and go overboard on size.

Earnest C Sense
The unit would go on and off every few minutes; it was annoying.

DomeBuilder
How did you manage the problem?

Earnest C Sense
I put a half ton heat pump unit in one of the windows. Since we don’t normally sleep in the dome, when it’s hot I turn the AC down and let it run all night. It’s nice and cool the next day because the concrete of the dome has cooled off, and it keeps its cool all day. The unit hardly comes on during the day. I repeat the process the next night. I bought one of those very quiet units. Love it.

DomeBuilder
Smart. You’re using the dome as a “temperature battery.”

Earnest C Sense
You taught me that, and also told me to go light on the heating and cooling units, but I figured you were overselling the dome.

DomeBuilder
Look at the bright side, you have a happy brother-in-law.

Earnest C Sense
I’ll say. You ought to see all the tasty fish he brings us.

DomeBuilder
     How’s the ranch doing?

Earnest C Sense
Great. Lots of green grass and plenty of cattle grazing on it. Come by one day when you’re out our way.

DomeBuilder
We’ll do that. Meanwhile say hi to Earnestine for us.

Earnest C Sense
     I will. Take care.

     More chats with Earnest soon...
